Fife, Wash. Stands by Commitment to Safety at Intersections, School Zones, with Program Renewal
The city of Fife, Wash. has renewed its red-light and speed enforcement programs, reinforcing its dedication to keeping roads safe.
The city partnered with Redflex in 2008, beginning with eight red-light enforcement systems. Understanding the extra safety precautions needed near schools, Fife added four speed enforcement systems for school zones in 2014.
According to city data, red-light enforcement has reduced collisions by 30 percent at photo enforced intersections. Funds from citations have been used to pay for new sidewalks and lighting along busy roads to increase safety for pedestrians.
