Our History

Redflex has been working to reduce vehicle incidents and save lives for more than twenty five years through the ongoing development of a range of safety solutions – including speed cameras, red light cameras and school bus stop arm cameras, that deter dangerous driving.

Redflex has global reach that extends beyond our headquarters in Australia; we partner with many communities, and operate hundreds of traffic safety systems around the world.

Our people and our partnerships set us apart from the pack. We employ approximately 500 people, and work with 19 channel partners globally.

We are innovative; we will continue to create and deliver solutions to make our cities and our lives more green, safer and smarter.

Timeline

  • 1996

    • Implemented world’s first single point ticket processing centre (transferring all digital images to one location).

  • 1998

    • Produced the world’s first digital enforcement system.
    • Awarded USA’s first digital radar speed camera system contract.

  • 2000

    • Installed the first digital red light enforcement system in the Middle East.

  • 2002

    • First use of OCR to capture bus lane infringements in Australia.
    • First digital speed and red light camera system in Saudi Arabia.
    • First use of infra-red flash technology for speed enforcement in Australia.

  • 2007

    • Installed the 1,000th camera in the USA.

  • 2010

    • Operated the first outsourced mobile camera enforcement program in Saudi Arabia.

  • 2013

    • Designed HADECS3 smart roads project (UK).
    • Implemented deployable over dimension detection system (Washington DC, USA).

  • 2014

    • Implemented Student Guardian, school zone speed enforcement solution.
    • Implemented first multi-camera ANPR car park.

  • 2016

    • Launched Halo, the world’s first true single-pole, multiple enforcement product.

  • 2017

    • Winner of the Good Design Award 2017 for Product Design Commercial and Industrial category.
    • Launched Alcyon, Redflex’s flagship Case Management and Back Office Platform.
    • Awarded contract by Royal Maritime Services (NSW, Australia) to supply and extend their fleet of mobile enforcement vehicles.

  • 2018

    • Redflex “Hold the Red” system recognised in Queensland Government Premier’s Awards for Excellence.

Mark J. Talbot

Group Chief Executive Officer

Appointed: 21 August 2017

Mark was appointed as Group Chief Executive Officer of Redflex Holdings Limited on 21 August 2017 and Managing Director on 29 November 2017.

Prior to joining Redflex, Mark was the General Manager of State and Local Solutions of Conduent (formed through a divestiture from Xerox Corporation). Prior to this role, Mark spent nine years in Xerox’s Transportation Sector segment rising to Group President Americas managing a portfolio of transportation related businesses before becoming Global Sales Leader for the entire Transportation Solutions Group with annual revenue in excess of US$850 million.

Mark has extensive experience in product development, sales and strategy in the Intelligent Transportation Services market and has operated effectively throughout the major markets in the world.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Science from Catholic University of America and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Maryland.

Neville Joyce

Senior Vice President, Group Chief Financial Officer

Appointed: 26 February 2018

Neville was appointed as Group Chief Financial Officer on 26 February 2018.

Previously, Neville held the position of Group Commercial Manager with the Company commencing on 12 January 2016.

Neville is a highly experienced financial and commercial executive with proven expertise across multiple sectors including energy, mining, technology and manufacturing. He brings extensive experience in leadership, management and strategic financial analysis having held senior finance positions with Origin and Energy Australia including roles as Divisional Head of Finance and as Chief Financial Officer for an incorporated joint venture.

Neville holds a Bachelor of Business and is CPA (Australia) qualified.

Senior Vice President, Group General Counsel and Company Secretary

Appointed: 9 February 2015

Craig was appointed as Senior Vice President, Group General Counsel & Company Secretary of Redflex Holdings Limited on 9 February 2015.

Craig was admitted in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 1991, in the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1999 and in the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York in the United States of America in 2018.

Craig has worked at both Corrs Chambers Westgarth and King & Wood Mallesons. He has also held senior legal and compliance roles at Foster’s Group in Melbourne, Australia and California, United States of America. Prior to joining Redflex, Craig was General Counsel & Company Secretary at a Melbourne-based gaming technology company.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from QUT, Master of Laws from Melbourne University, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from QUT and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance (GIA).

Craig is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, a Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and a Member of the New York Bar and the New York State Bar Association.

Lewis H. Miller

Senior Vice President, Global Operations

Appointed: 1 December 2017

Lew was appointed as Senior Vice President – Global Operations of Redflex in 1 December 2017.

Lew has fifteen years of automated traffic enforcement management experience, including working with several of the largest and most complex automated traffic enforcement projects in North America. Prior to joining Redflex, for over two years Lewis was the Vice President Operations– Public Safety of Conduent (formed through a divestiture from Xerox Corporation) overseeing all of Conduent’s automated traffic enforcement operations in the U.S. and Canada.

Prior to this role, Lewis spent five years as Xerox’s Director of U.S. Operations, Public Safety having responsibility for the company’s domestic automated enforcement contracts.

Lewis brings a variety of experience in automated traffic enforcement including program management, client relations, customer service, solution design, business development, competitive customer proposals, presentations and pricing, system installation, system testing, new product development, field maintenance and the management of key vendor relationships.

Lew holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Kalamazoo College, Michigan, Masters Degree in Public Policy from University of Michigan and Juris Doctor from University of Michigan.

Fergus Porter

Senior Vice President, Engineering and Delivery

Appointed: 19 August 2016

Fergus was appointed as Senior Vice President, Engineering and Delivery of Redflex Traffic Systems Pty Ltd on 1 Feb 2016.

He has more than 30 years of experience in in technology roles and has worked extensively at the General Manager and CEO level with a background in delivering strategic solutions and large-scale program/transformation management. Fergus has worked in a variety of industries including Insurance, Banking, Telecommunications and Consulting across Europe, Asia and Australia.

With over 10 years’ experience at the CEO and Board level, Fergus has spent significant time developing and executing on business strategies to grow start-up businesses.

Fergus holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from Trinity College Dublin and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

Laurence Giles

Senior Vice President, Markets and Solutions

Appointed: 22 August 2016

Laurence commenced as Senior Vice President, Markets and Solutions of Redflex Holdings Limited on the 22 August 2016.

Laurence has held many senior positions within in the telecommunications, software, healthcare and logistics industries with extensive experience in developing and implementing market and technology solution strategies across customer segments, industries and global markets, including the determination of channels to market. This has included the application of emerging and disruptive technologies to position companies in established and new markets.

Prior to join Redflex Laurence was the General Manager, Marketing Strategy – International and New Business Marketing for Telstra with responsibility to lead the coordination, development and execution of marketing strategies for priority and new markets including countries, cities or applications that were determined to be strategic to the Telstra’s growth opportunities internationally and domestically.

Mr Giles holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.

Senior Vice President, People & Performance

Appointed: 1 December 2017

As Senior Vice President, People & Performance, Angela promotes positive culture change and transparent business operations for optimal employee engagement.

She is a manager, team leader, mentor and motivator noted for developing best-in-class, customer-focused service teams that set the bar high for productivity and customer satisfaction.

She has more than 20 years of experience in human resources, benefits and compensation, health, HRIS and safety fields, among other industries.

Angela holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
