Barbara Hoffman, the executive director of Red Means Stop, discussed the realities of traffic cameras and the positive effect they have on communities in editorial for the Glendale Star.
Hoffman discusses common misconceptions about photo enforcement programs and asks citizens not to take traffic safety for granted. Rather, she encourages them to consider the extra layer of protection they provide communities.
Hoffman's son was killed in a crash caused by a red-light runner. She founded Red Means Stop in response to the tragedy, in order to raise awareness about dangerous driving behaviors. Redflex has been a longtime supporter of the organization.
